COLUMBIA RIVER WALLEYES
Washington-Oregon Game & Fish Magazine

June is one of the best times of the year to
target walleyes while trolling the Columbia
River. I could feel the questioning looks from
my clients as I urged them to continue to let
their lines roll off their level-wind reels. The
constant chop of the 3-foot waves on the
Columbia River rocked the boat as we idled
upstream, just below the John Day Dam...
With over four decades of experience, Rivers Bend Outfitters professional guide,
Glenn Summers, provides an exceptional value and a memorable adventure for your
next Oregon fishing trip or hunting adventure!

Headquartered at the end of the Oregon Trail and at the eastern gate of the vast
Columbia River Gorge Scenic Area, our fishing and hunting trips offer an outdoor
feast to even the most experienced sportsman.

Cutting the only sea-level route through the Cascade Mountain Range, the Columbia
River Gorge is a spectacular canyon that is about 80 miles long and up to 4,000 feet
deep with the north canyon walls in Washington State and the south canyon walls in
Oregon State.

The Gorge offers outdoor activities for families including hiking, mountain biking,
windsurfing, camping, fishing, boating, outdoor dining and of course lots more. Indoor
options include museums, art galleries, wine tasting, shopping and more. As you
Travel the Gorge, stop at any of the small towns along the Columbia River - Hood
River, White Salmon, The Dalles - for a personal friendly atmosphere with something
for everyone to experience.

Africa at last!!! Don't forget to read about my latest hunting trips to Africa for Impala,
Eland and Cape Buffalo.

RETURN OF THE RAM!
Washington-Oregon Game & Fish Magazine

With the help of good game management
and financial backing from the hunting
fraternity, bighorn sheep are once again
thriving in the Deschutes canyon. Lying on a
shelf and peering through 8-power
binoculars, I had a close-up view of two
small rams as they lay in the shade of an
overhang chewing their cud mere inches
from a 2,500-foot drop to the Deschutes
River..
