Kortges Sandbar on the Deschuttes River
Traditionally, the Walleye is considered the prime species caught across the Midwest
regions of the country. However, the Walleye is also active in the waters of the Columbia
river.

Walleye fishing on the Columbia River is growing by the year. Many experts believe the next
world record walleye will come from the Columbia River. Professional and amateur anglers
have traveled across the country just to experience Walleye fishing on the Columbia River
and the potential of a wall-hanger!

Six to ten pound Walleyes are not uncommon with fish up to 15 pounds. These great tasting
fish are caught from February through December.
